Burrito Boyz

So I've walked past this place a few times on one of my long walks with my dog and have been wanting to try it for a while. So finally the other day I headed up to grab a quick bite for lunch.

(Interior)

It's a small restaurant with a few tables. It's nice and bright and clean, with a green pass in the window (for anyone who doesn't know that's a good thing, it means they passed their health inspection) and the staff are friendly. The menu is posted above the counter where all the fresh ingredients are.

You have a few options: quesadilla, burrito and something they call "naked" which is a burrito without the wrap. You also get to pick what type of tortilla you want, either white, whole wheat or gluten free. I really like the option to pick my tortilla and it's nice to see that even gluten free people can enjoy the food here too. For the burritos you have the normal options like chicken or steak, but here there are also some interesting choices like haddock, halibut and sweet potato. For the quesadillas there are slightly less options.  Once you've decided on all that then you get to pick what goes inside, again it's a little bit different for the burrito vs the quesadilla, oh yeah and you can get either small or large.

I decided on the small chicken burrito, mild with all the toppings. It was massive, I am glad I went with the small. The price was good, $6.75 including tax, but not tip. Overall it was a good burrito, the first couple of bites were a bit bland, but once I got into where the green onions and jalapenos were it was better. The heat level was good, just a bit of a kick but not blow your head off spicy.  Next time I think I will skip the re-fried beans and maybe try the fish.

Yes that is a small, it had to of been over 1lb in weight, but it made for a good workout on the walk back.

So to "wrap" it up, Burrito Boyz is an alright place. It's clean and welcoming and the ingredients are fresh. It's a bit out of my way so I won't be a regular there, but I will definitely go back and give it another try. I give it a 3/5.
